The VIII International movie festival of the Days of Russian and German short movies will be held in December 4th to 12th. This year the Volgograd festival will be online – the views and votes will be there at the official website.
Despite the unconventional online format, the festival will traditionally feature an extensive program of short fiction, documentaries, animated and experimental pieces. The viewers can choose to appreciate the main movie program, or the children’s or special programs, as well as online lectures, and a master class for beginners. This year the committee decided upon Russian and German movies only. 20 best movies were selected out of more than 300 Russian and German-language applications, with the total number of applications from various countries of the world. The two-part main program will be available at the official website http://vkratze-fest.ru/ru/ for 3 days from the 4th of December. Within these days the viewers may vote for the best movie, which will get the People’s Choice Award.
The family/children’s program comprises 13 movies shot in Russia, Germany, Italy, Israel, Argentina and other countries. This program has two parts for different age groups (from 6 to 10 years), and the access will be there for 3 days as well, with vote options on the website
An international board of professionals will judge the festival, with such people as Fabian Drichorst (Germany), animation director Natalia Berezovaya (Russia), an artist, writer and animation director Asya Umarova (Russia), director and educator Vita Goudilina (Russia), and scriptwriter and director Tamara Bocharova (Russia) in it. These experts will remotely evaluate the winning films and announce the final winners on December, 12.

The program includes works of young contemporary German directors. The special program will be aired on December 11 on 20:00 Moscow time until December 12, 2:00.
Th educational part will include online lectures and a master class.
