During another family trip – in one moment of sibling violence Aviv first understands the consequences of his violence. The film was shot in the actual places the real events took place. Director Statement: “Milestone” is a story that is based on a personal trauma that occurred to me at the age of 7. To this day I remember the feeling of helplessness as I walked around the forest and trying to digest what I did to my sister. This moment changed me forever. This is the reason It was important to me that people will be exposed to the story and understand the tremendous impact that violence has on shaping the self-image of a child. I tend to be very didactic and precise, which is my greatest advantage and disadvantage as a director. So the story is told as I imagined it from the beginning. There are two main things that I sought in the artistic vision. One is that the story will be told from the point of view of Aviv, the hero, so that the viewer can feel that he is accompanying the hero with the journey. Second, that the film will express maximum authenticity and so we chose to shoot in my elementary school and in Ben Shemen Forest where the incident occurred. My main conclusion from the experience is that I must continue to create art and to put in it my personal place”.
